The Senior Slide Show is a tradition of MCHS in which the members of the senior class are highlighted in a 30-minute pictorial set to music.  The show is revealed at the beginning of the junior-senior prom in May.  Seniors may order a copy of the finished version on DVD, which they will receive as they leave the prom.  Sale dates will be announced.  Students should follow the given submission guidelines to be included in the show.

Photo submissions may be submitted in two ways:

  • - Prints - in a manila envelope or ziploc bag with the students' name and homeroom teacher clearly identified on the outside.  Prints should be clear, not too dark, and preferably not cut into shapes.
  • - on CD in 300 dpi JPG format with the students' name and homeroom teacher clearly identified on the cd.  Only jpg format can be used.  Do not turn in a Wal-Mart (or other store) cd.  The cd should contain only the images to be used and will not be returned.

With either submission, it is advisable to include a list identifying the person/people in the picture, their age(s) and perhaps the setting.  Printed photos may be numbered on the back for identification.

Printed photos are sent to the yearbook company to be scanned.  They will be returned to the student through the homeroom teacher in late April.

You may turn in a total of 10 pictures.  The first five (5) should be:

  • 1 baby picture (under 2 years old)
  • 1 preschool picture (2-5 years old)
  • 1 elementary school picture (5-12 years old)
  • 1 junior high picture (6th - 8th grade)
  • 1 senior picture

Please make sure these photos are clearly identified.  While posed "school" pictures are acceptable, candid / action shots are preferred; photos that show the student in real life.

The remaining five photos may be any combination of the students' life.  Some suggestions include, but are not limited to:

  • group shots at a birthday party
  • hanging out at the lake
  • dances and other special events
  • sporting events
  • recitals, plays, musicals, etc.

Group shots are welcome.  However, please note that ONLY students in the senior class will be included in the show.  Please look for a variety of prints from different ages and settings.

Family photos should not be submitted.  If the only photo a student has is of them with a sibling or siblings, the photo will be used but other family members will be cropped out.

Keep in mind the purpose of the slide show is to show the members of the class as they have grown together, studied together and played together.  Note that every photo submitted will NOT be used in the final show.  The show is limited to 30 minutes or less, but depends on the number of students in the class and photo submissions as to its' final length.  Some photos taken throughout the senior year by the Journalism Staff will be used, but the majority will come from student submission.
