AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL LETTER TO THE JUDGES
A letter (written
in the form of a full-block formal business letter) must be
included in the student's portfolio. The letter is the student's
first opportunity to make an impression on the judges. It should
be an example of the student's best writing, expressing how
he/she views him/herself.
In the letter the
student may include family background, hobbies, goals, passions
and talents, as well as any handicaps or other unusual
circumstances that might help the judges understand the student
as an individual.
It is important
that the letter include reflective comments about the following
topics: the student's experience with the senior project (paper
and product phases, the student's feelings about his/her high
school years, any regrets or highlights, etc).
