Advanced Placement United States history is an intensive course that studies the American past revealing to students--no matter where their place of origin--the amazing--and at times tragic development of one of the most influential countries in global history.  In addition, it is a year long course where we discover the time frames called US History until 1877 (fall semester) and US History from 1877 (spring semester).  Why do historians choose 1877 for dating?  Ask your child for details!
