LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS NON-LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS
  • UTM/McNairy Center Scholarship is for residents of McNairy County. Call 646-1636 for more information.

  • Shelter Insurance Scholarship applications are available in mid-March. You do not have to have insurance with Shelter to apply.

  • McNairy County Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship is for students pursuing a medical profession, and can show financial need.  Applications are available at the hospital.

  • The Tennessee Technology Center at Crump offers scholarships for high school seniors planning to attend.  Applications are available in Guidance.

  • The Dr. Gilbert Fernandez Scholarship is for a high school senior. It is based on GPA, school activities, and community activities. Applications are available in Guidance.
  • The McNairy County Right to Life Chapter will sponsor a Pro-Life speech contest for high school students.  This event involves research, writing, and presenting a speech against the promotion of abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, or stem cell research.  Visit the guidance office or contact 731-632-1302 for more information.

  • MCEA Scholarships are available. For more information, see Mr. John Friend in C Pod.

 

  • United States Marines offer a NROTC Scholarship for students with a combination score of 45 in English and Math ACT subscores. You do not have to enlist in order to apply. Call 1-866-581-9144.
  • Imagine America Scholarships are available in several area schools, such as Nashville Auto Diesel College and Agriculture. Ask the institution or go to http://www.imagine-america.org/.

  • Miss Tennessee Teen offers scholarship dollars to TN resident females between the ages of 15-19. Visit www.misstennesseeusa.com for details.

  • American General Scholarship is for seniors who are in the top third of the senior class and whose family income is no more than $50,000 annually. For more information call 1-615-320-3149.

  • DECA members are eligible for scholarships through corporate sponsors. Applications are mailed to the DECA advisor or you may call 1-703-860-5000. If you have work experience and plan to pursue business, marketing, or hospitality majors visit http://www.deca.org/.

  • "Great Futures Start Here" Scholarship of $1,000….applications are available at http://www.campusdoor.com/.

  • The Art Institutes (http://www.artinstitutes.edu/) offer national scholarships in approximately 25 locations nationwide. Programs vary by location.

  • The Top Tenn Scholarship Program is open to all Tennessee Secondary school students who are ranked first or second in their class at the end of the 11th grade.   • The 2007 Freshman Communications Scholarships are available for incoming freshman who will be communications majors at UT Martin. 

  • The Roy W. and Sue T. Black Scholarship is for deserving students in West Tennessee who are African American or Hispanic, and must be a declared major in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics admitted at the University of Memphis.

  • The Stan and Thelma Plumlee Scholarship applications are available for students who live in prefabricated housing.  Applications are in Guidance in spring.

  • The Next Generation Foundation Scholarship Award is for a student planning to attend a two- or four-year college.  You must be of good academic standing and exhibit financial need. Applications are available in guidance.

  • The NHSACA scholarship is available to athletes.  Information and applications are available in guidance.

  • The Horatio Alger Scholarship is for students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society.  To submit an application, visit http://www.horationalger.org/scholarships.

  • The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty Photo and Essay Contest is for girls between the ages of 11-17.  For more information, visit http://www.c4rb.com/photocontest

  • Cancer Care Center College Scholarship Program offers scholarship opportunities. Applications are available in guidance.

  • The American Indian Center offers scholarships for Native Americans in the state of Tennessee. For more information, call 1-800-640-2056.

  • The American Cancer Society offers a scholarship for a student who has been diagnosed with cancer before the age of 21. For more information call 1-800-ACS-2345.

  • High-achieving sophomores, juniors and seniors with strong leadership and community service experience can now apply for Presidential Classroom programs for 2008.  More information on these civic education programs is available by email at info@presidentialclassroom.org
